Bułhak was consistently pursuing his concept of Homeland Photography, documenting all the parts of Poland he could reach, capturing over ten thousand images. He propagated and put into practice the following idea: "the crucial and most noble task facing a man with a photographic camera is to create a full, true and beautiful `portrait` of his native land".
