gelatin silver print, 60 x 39.8 cm,
artist`s stamp with title on the reverse,
edition: 6/10
vintage print
The photograph featured here advertises silver jewellery. It was made specially for the needs of the editors of Polish Art Review, with Grażyna Magdziak posing as the model.
The high contrast combined with non-typical perspective brings to mind the characteristic style of the famous British photographer Bill Brandt, who collaborated with Man Ray.
The photograph was shown at the Menschen aus Polen exhibition organised by Staatliche Kunsthalle in Baden-Baden (1984) and at a number of exhibitions worldwide.
The print is the sixth of 10 prints made. The other prints can be found in recognised collections, including the collection of the Library of Congress in Washington, the Museum of Photography in Horten, Norway, and Muzeum Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
