In his work, Pająk explores the city by documenting its parts, but, as the curator Lena Wicherkiewicz observes, "he does it merely as a pretext, an excuse to return to the origins of photography - the light, which is the actual protagonist of the pictures. Pająk records views
(he has gathered quite a collection of them since 2001, and the process still continues) of the Warsaw that is vanishing: doorways of the old Praga, the backyards in Mokotów, details of stairs, cobbled surfaces, cracking paint on old walls, picturesquely cast shadows, architectural details."
