The work is part of the Family Anatomy series. The collages, which combine photography with drawing, were inspired by Buczkowska`s childlike fascination with anatomy charts (historically shown as drawings with moving parts of bodily organs). The artist uses photographs of her ancestors, analysing their anatomy by decomposing it into symbolically depicted organs.
