Weselik specialised in documentary and humanist photography. Rich in conceptual overtones, this photograph is unique compared to his other works. Using the formal effect of transition from lightness, which is a metaphor of the beginning here, to complete darkness, which implies the declining years, the artist presents the stages of his life.
Another set, which consists of the 5 works in the centre, is owned by the National Museum in Wrocław.
