The featured photograph comes from Kowalski’s renowned collection of works entitled Side Effects, and is one of his most characteristic works. Produced in the years 2008-2015, it is divided into thematic sets, including: Toxic Beauty, Flood from the Sky, Seasons and The Depth of Winter. Poland’s winter scenery, photographed from a bird’s eye view, acquires graphic-like forms in Kowalski’s pictures.
