Polish actress, visual arts artist. In 1980-87 she studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw. She works with the topics of place, memory and time. She is the author of sculptures and video installations. She took part in events like Biennale in Istanbul, Sydney, Sonsbeek, Liverpool, FOKUS LODZ Biennale (2010), the 54th Biennale in Venice. She was awarded a scholarship my institutions like Minister of Culture and Art in Warsaw, KulturKontakt in Vienna, ProHelvetica in Zurich, and Pollock-Krasner in New York City, or Minister of Culture and National Heritage in Warsaw. In 1999 she was awarded the prize of ‘Artistic Personality of the Year’ by the Centre for Contemporary Art in Warsaw; in 1998, 1999, and 2002 she was nominated for Paszport Polityki (Passport of Polityka). In 2003 she was the finalist for the Adi Prize Art. She is the creator of a fictional television about art entitled ‘TV Studio’, where she is the presenter for ART TALK SHOW, talking to people of art. In 2005 she founded the foundation ‘Lokal Sztuki’, which promotes contemporary art. In 2006 she was awarded the prize for Best Gallery Presentation at ViennAfair, the scholarship of the Minister of Culture and National Heritage, as part of the Programme for Promoting Artistic Work. Nominated for ‘ART in the City’, Brussels.
