Cranium. Camera. Cranium. Camera.

1994
c-print, 49.8 x 59.8 cm,
signed "Jerzy Truszkowski," dated and described on the reverse
edition: 1/10

In this work, Truszkowski alludes to his own artistic and personal relationships with other artists - Janusz Rasiński and Zofia Kulik. The skulls belonged to Rasiński, who used them in his art. Truszkowski also collaborated with Rasiński, for example during a plein air performance in Olsztyn in 1988. The Soviet camera seen on the left-hand side, which is a copy of a Hasselblad, was owned by Rasiński, who would buy such equipment in Poland, and then sell it abroad. The original Hasselblad to the right was owned by Zofia Kulik.
Vanitas is a common motif explored by the three artists - Rasiński, Kulik, and Truszkowski.
