Since the 1980s, the artist has been making photographs using his own method known as photosynthesis. By capturing multiple shots of the same object, view, person or situation at short time intervals, Pruszkowski manages to produce images with painting-like qualities. This is how he recollects taking this photograph: "In the winter of 1996, I was invited to show my photosynthetic photographs in Canada. Taking the opportunity, I asked the organisers about a place in their vicinity that would be most typical of Canada and would be best suited for my photosynthetic photographs. They recommended the famous Royal Canadian Mounted Police Academy in Reginia, lying 250 miles away from the town I was to stay in. Because the winter of 1996 was a "winter of the century," the car was moving slowly, at the prescribed speed, so I had 5 hours to photograph the white road against the background of the white Canadian plain..."
