The Butter Triangle comes from Breguła`s ongoing series of photographs. In this and other works in the series the artist makes use of absurd associations with well-known damaged masterpieces to tell stories of their post-damage lives. The Butter Triangle photograph invokes Joseph Beuys` Fettecke (1982) - a block of butter stuck into the corner of a room in the Academy of Fine Arts, Düsseldorf, and destroyed unwittingly by one of its employees.
