In his Image Hunters. Sketches from the History of Photography (Centrum Animacji Kultury, 1998), Zbigniew Tomaszczuk calls many of the neo-avant-garde artists of the late 1970s ‘multi-media artists’ - whose work was largely based on photography. This category includes Rytka, whose art revolves around photography, with the artist often using the medium in his videos, objects and installations. In the 1970s, Rytka was interested in the highly topical issue of the manipulation of the television picture. The Bluff portfolio of works was produced as a reflection on such manipulations.
