1978/1990
gelatin silver print, mounted on cardboard, 20.1 x 25.5 cm (29.3 x 39.3 cm),
signed, dated, description: "Town of Wikno, Omulew Lake" on the reverse
The photograph was taken shortly before nightfall at Omulew Lake. The narrow stream that flows into the lake leaves it as a 114-kilometre river - The Omulew. This is the only surviving print of the photograph. The negative does not exist any longer. The print comes from the portfolio of photographs Mroczek prepared for a presentation before the Artistic Board of ZPAF. However, Mroczek never had a chance to present it to the Board as he was admitted to the ZPAF for his overall achievements.
