Battle of Grunwald in the CCA Ujazdowski Castle from the Battle of Grunwald series

1999/2011
pigment print, Studio Harman Glossy FB AI, 72 x 200 cm,
signed, dated and described on the reverse,
edition: 5/9

The Battle of Grunwald was made to mock the fetishization of the famous painting by Jan Matejko. It also taunts the quality of history teaching in Polish schools. The series of paintings depicting the Battles of Grunwald is also a manifestation of the joy of creation. The photographs were staged and captured in five different locations: in the town of Antonin near Kalisz (1998), in Poznań (1998), in Piotrowska Street, Łódź, (a fragment, 1998), in Karowa Street, Warsaw (1999), and in the Laboratory of the CCA Ujazdowski Castle in Warsaw (1999), where the featured work was produced.
The photograph has been widely exhibited and published.
