1976/2009
colour print mounted on Kappa, 40 x 60 cm,
signed, dated and described on the reverse
The photograph comes from the Autohemo performance, which was staged during the Oferta festival in the Labirynt Gallery in Lublin in 1976. The image was captured by Leszek Fidusiewicz, who has documented Krzysztof Zarębski`s artistic activity since 1971. The title refers to the word haemoglobin, while the performance itself invokes the artist`s personal experience and his eyesight problems, as well as a motif of medical treatment by bloodletting.
Another photo documenting the performance was printed in Łukasz Ronduda`s book entitled Polish Art of the 1970s. The Avant-Garde Movement (2009).
