One of the most recognisable of Ryszard Horowitz`s works. It was inspired by a drawing made by Saul Steinbgerg, one of Horowitz`s favourite artists, which depicts a man throwing a spear backwards. The photograph is an analogue composite image made of four independent shots: 1. the girl`s torso and legs come from one photograph cut in two parts; 2. the door, floor and wall are a miniature sized 50 x 50 cm; 3. the hedge was photographed in a friend`s garden near Paris; 4. white cat.
The photograph has been widely exhibited and reproduced, notably on the cover of Jerzy Lewczyński`s An Anthology of Polish Photography 1839-1989 (Lucrum, 1999).
