The Afterlife body of works was produced in the years 2010-2014, and is a continuation of Wilczyk’s earlier series, Life after Life, which dates back to 2004-2007. Wilczyk shows here old, disused vehicles in completely new roles. Having avoided being scrapped, the car wrecks have now undergone unusual metamorphoses, converted into absurd elements of roadside scenery: displayed on posts, roofs, sunk into the walls of houses, turned into a huge flower pot, or as in this photograph - a giant cow.
