This photograph was taken in Sopot at an exhibition of paintings at the local branch of the Central Bureau for Art Exhibitions. The young woman portrayed was the artist’s wife at the time. In his extensive review (Głos Wybrzeża, 11.1960) of the 9th National Art Photography Exhibition in Gdańsk, where the photograph was presented, Franciszek Walicki wrote that Kamiński’s images were like perfectly composed paintings, "(...) having an extraordinary mood suggestive of indolence, but also full of expression, lyricism, and at the same time violent dynamics."
Exhibitions in 1960-1964: Gdańsk; Port Elizabeth, South Africa; Mexico City; Bordeaux, France; Woman in the Second Half of the 20th Century, Budapest, Hungary.
