The two photographs of Witkiewicz with a watch are among his most interesting portraits. They are also a record of the artist`s performances, his "theatre of life". Sometimes Witkiewicz himself captured his grotesque and absurd creations as self-portraits, but often he asked his fellow photographers to do it for him. The two portraits, conceived by Witkacy, were made in September 1931 by Józef Głogowski, whom Witkacy had met shortly beforehand.
